Thanks to specialized applications, music can be composed and created, on a computer, without too much effort. If you make a mistake, you can just press a button to remove it, instead of using an eraser, on a piece of paper. MC Musiceditor allows you to choose between different methods of composing music. You can add notes and other symbols instantly and modify them just as fast. The application allows you to preview your work while editing, export it to PDF or MIDI and more.

MC Musiceditor is distributed as a freeware application, so you don't have to pay for it. It was developed for Windows XP and later editions, but you may be able to run it on older platforms as well. The application's files can be extracted from a 30 MB Zip archive, without the need to go through a setup procedure.

Everything you need in order to compose music is placed in front of you, on the user interface. You can add notes and symbols to a stave, by using keyboard shortcuts, typing in a text editing area or by clicking a series of notes and various options, in the lower region of the interface. When you select a note, the corresponding code will be inserted in the editing area automatically. The application displays a preview of your stave in a PDF document. All the symbols are added and modified in real time, in the PDF file, while editing a composition.

You can play your composition at any time, with MC Musiceditor's built-in MIDI player. Additionally, the application allows you to bring up a metronome, on a separate window. Besides changing its tempo, you can set it to use one or more instruments. Additional tools, for transposing notes, code or files, loading templates and others, can be accessed with different options, located in the top menus.

MC Musiceditor supports ABC and MCM code. Besides saving your composition, in PDF or MIDI format, you can also convert MCM or ABC code to Javascript webstrings and parse them with Abcjs. This gives you the possibility of rendering your music with a web browser.

Pros

You may compose music and preview it, in real time, in a PDF document. Symbols can be added to a stave, by clicking various options, using keyboard shortcuts or by typing. MC Musiceditor provides every tool you need in order to compose music and it allows you to save your project in PDF or MIDI format.

Cons

You may experience refresh problems with the previewer, while using an older MC Musiceditor version. With its simple and effective tools, MC Musiceditor can make any musician's work much easier and more comfortable.
